Spring Volunteer Village

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Spring Volunteer Village Event organized by the Greater Long Beach Directors of Volunteers and sponsored by the Long Beach Nonprofit Partnership and the Viking Volunteer Center, Long Beach City College.

In October 2009 this event was held for the first time at the Long Beach City College LIberal Arts Campus. The event attracted over 1000 members of the public looking for a variety of volunteer opportunities. The Spring Volunteer Village will again be held at Long Beach City College. Agencies participating in the October event found a wide demographic of potential volunteers at the City College location. High school students, college-age students, adults and families will be in attendance.

DATE: Wednesday, April 21, 2010 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the Liberal Arts Campus of Long Beach City College.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Thursday, April 15, 2010
REGISTRATION COST: $35 Agencies may register using the form below and pay online, or mail a check with our printer-friendly form.
Registration will close once space is filled. Registration not guaranteed until completed registration form and payment received.
Registration fee will include one six foot draped table; access to the Refresh/Refuel Lounge with free drinks and snacks. Access to the school cafeteria where meals and additional snacks may be purchased. Access to computers for checking email.
Agencies must provide coverage for their table for the duration of the event.
Event setup: 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Volunteer Village: 3 to 7 p.m. Breakdown: 7 to 7:30 p.m.
Agencies are encouraged to utilize their own volunteers to staff tables and interact with members of the public. Nothing sells your agency like happy, engaged volunteers who are committed to your mission. Come prepared to discuss your agency, your mission, who you serve and the types of volunteer opportunities you have available.
In advance of this event please consider how you can utilize volunteers for a Summer of Service project and/or how you can utilize volunteers for a special project on the National Day of Service and Rememberance on 9/11/10.
Once completed registration form & payment are received by Long Beach Nonprofit Partnership, Long Beach City College staff will send your agency further information and instructions on the event; including parking information, maps and exact campus location.
